A MOUSE?!

Dang it son! that's pretty good for a mouse drawing! It's not really conveyed that he's a murderer here, but DAM - I'd give it a passing grade for sure.

Cheers m8.

britsie1 responds:

Thanks :D True, it doesn't really show that he's a murderer but then again it is a bit in contrast to the secritive part if I were to show him killing someone. I imagine he is an assassin waiting on the ship for a victim to come strolling in the park... or something like that haha.

F*** Yeah!

Finally someone managed to pull off the OverTheTopness of all 6 descriptors without it looking goofy and lame.

Well, it does look goofy, but in a self-aware kind of goofy.
As in "I know this looks dumb and nonsensical *shades* deal with it!"

Awesome work!

wellie responds:

Thanks man im glad you liked it!

Ladies and Gentlemen: Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg Bullseye - a bastard lovechild of Gary Oldman and Colin Farrel.

Srsly though: Loved your take on the "secretive" descriptor.
Mhm! Such a cool painting!

These random cindering cracks of the recent fire around the bedroom feel kind of superficial, considering that all the cloth and miscelaneous items have been unafflicted by the said fire.

Hmm..I didn't really explore the idea of "repopulating" the burnt down bedroom. I'd just go for more charred surfaces and blackened stuff. Embers would've long been extinguished by that time though.
lol maybe i'm just taking too logical approach to the environment then.

Anyway: great stuff m8.
Cheers.

MartsArt responds:

Thank you, and yes when you have princess bedroom with conference room and murderer all combine in one environment I thing trying to logic the sh*t out of it is not exactly healthy(for your brain) ;)
That's something for my therapist to deal with ;)

Haha.
Wut.
Srsly tho: this blew my mind. 4 stars just for that :D
I don't even! I suppose that's the correct reaction.

Goddam! Just noticed an allien dude taking a leak in the background. 10/10

CheekyChace responds:

Lol thank you it was a fun piece

Wow. Very impressive work.

I could never understand how people can be so proficient with traditional medium.
Still can't actually :p

Looks like it scanned a bit weirdly in the orc's armpit. How DID you scan this anyway? don't tell me you actually took photos of it and then glued them digitally?

Dam! So much more work and hardship compared to "tablet-users".
Very admirable.

Cheers m8.

Sarcolea responds:

Thank you so much for your kind comment. I had to scan in each half of the painting separately and stick it together. I know it doesn't quite look right but it's the best I can do :).

Hah. This is good.
Made me chuckle :D

I'd personally go with more heat and flame radiating out of the mage's position. Kind of seems like there should be more stuff getting damaged and set on fire with the way the bed almost flies to the ceiling, but the glasses are unshattered and the floorboards are preserved too.

Anyway: Gr8 job m8, especially the lighting.
Cheers!

Viktor-jonsson responds:

Thank you so much. :D

More damage would be a good idea, breaking the glass and floorbord would be very cool accualy. Didnt accualy think about that for some reason... o_O

Impressive!

For some reason those red lines around his eyes look like they want to be a pair of spectacles to me :D
Can't unsee! :s

I like the environment design, but ye - I see what you mean. It kinda does look like he's an approaching enemy in the fighting game and the next stage is set in the labyrinth.
"ROUND ONE!"
"FIGHT!"

Cheers m8

Artist-Lost responds:

Thanks, yeah sometimes the squiggly line technique I use can cause some weirdness, especially with reds, since i'm red green color blind I forget to blend them if i'm not zoomed in.

I'm digging this.
Why not have the beard itself be on fire!
AND with traditional medium too! Looks so crisp from afar that I first took it for a digital painting.
Great job!

Cheers.

bloowabbit responds:

thanks !

Now THAT is a beard!
Finally drawing that really captures the "impressive" aspect of the stache-beard combo discriptor.

I really like the juxtaposition of simplicity in lines and colors vs the complexity of the background texture. Therefore I'm sad that you don't actually show the process of drawing all the nebulas in your speedpaint. They add the most oomph to it and are clearly the most interesting part in it.

I'm kind of suspicious of you taking it off somewhere and blending it in, but I'm also willing to let it slide because you did a good job with it :p

Cheers m8

Badoine responds:

Thank you !! :)

Yes, I finished recording but then I didn't really like the background so I modify it a little bit, reason why it is not in the speedpainting. I added more colors, and yes I used a texture to make the nebulas :/ My drawing skills are not really good so I had no idea how to make a nebula by myself, really sorry for that :/

Not bad.

One MAJOR gripe I have with this is that the left most corridor is directly behind the skull and the black drippage. Does not make sence to have it there composition-wise: just looks confusing - I thought that pillars were hair coming from the skull at first.

And the flowing end of the scroll could really use more dynamics, looks kind of stiff as of now.

I'd also have devoted more space to the character itself.

I like the windmills though - it's a really nice touch.

Keep at it m8. Cheers.
